Join a Locally Owned, Boutique Psychology Practice.
Built by Clinicians, for Clinicians.
Are you interested in private practice but unsure how to navigate credentialing, billing, finances, or the logistics of getting started? Or are you feeling dissatisfied in your current workplace due to limited transparency, rigid productivity expectations, or business decisions made far removed from clinical reality?
Avellar Warden Psychological Associates (AWPA) is a locally owned, boutique outpatient psychotherapy practice located in the heart of Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are led by two practicing psychologists who remain directly involved in the day-to-day operations of the practice and in the professional development of the clinicians who work with us.
We intentionally operate differently from large, corporate, or venture-backed mental health companies. At AWPA, clinicians are not anonymous providers within a massive system. Our team is known, supported, and mentored.
When you join our practice, you have direct access to the owners, clear insight into how the business operates, and meaningful mentorship around building a sustainable professional life. We provide practical guidance on topics often missing from graduate training, including private practice operations, insurance systems, finances, quarterly taxes, and long-term career planning. Whether your goal is to grow long-term with us or eventually launch a practice of your own, we are there for y0u.
We believe clinicians do their best work when they feel respected, informed, and supported, not managed at arm’s length.
